Not a bad way to start the day huh???? Here's the view from our hotel room window early Thursday morning. I'm headed out to hit the pavement and take in the beauty of this quaint town...
UPDATE:
While the guys are playing another 18 - Karen and I had a ball walking all over Kinsale taking in the sights and shopping and grabbing a breakfast at a local spot. The weather has turned and every innkeeper had something to say about the fact that colder weather is on it's way - much cooler than yesterday, and rain is predicted for this afternoon.
Flowers are everywhere in Kinsale:
The Mansion House - the door is a bit over 5'5"! People were a wee bit shorter back in the day!
A watering hole we frequented last visit:
Our breakfast stop:
Here a some pics of Doug from his round at Old Head today - the weather conditions were totally different from yesterday. It was unreal wind conditions and once they were through, the rain began (thus Doug is wearing rain pants):
Karen and I decided to head back to Old Head and shop a bit there and meet up with the guys for lunch.
Tourists are photobombing my pic but here's the view as you drive into Old Head:
Faille - means "Welcome" in Gaelic:
Still pinching myself that we were able to play here!
And of all the fabulous seafood I've head here, this meal takes the cake - Guinness Stew from Old Head:
More later....
UPDATE #2 --- last night in Kinsale
Drinks before dinner with the usual characters at The Spaniard.
And the rain has begun.....
Walking to dinner at Man Friday's:
Cannot get enough of the Irish brown bread with Irish butter - nothing better!
Sancerre devotees:
Fabulous roasted chicken:
Hake:
Our after dinner pub of choice - The White House:
Brian and Karen's favorite band was playing there - Two of a Kind. They were fabulous!
Now it's off to repack (again) and get some rest before a very early wake up call and drive back to Dublin to get ready for the big game on Saturday!
Good night all from Kinsale!!!
